Namsan is for lovers
Namsan is the mountain right in the middle Seoul, and as you might expect it has some amazing views. It’s also home to N Seoul Tower, a 237 meter communication and observation tower. And since it’s built on top of a mountain it is actually 480 m above the city making it the perfect place for some amazing views of Seoul.
Besides the views of the city, Namsan is also famous for it’s love locks. What is a love lock??? It’s a pad lock that a couple writes their names on and then locks it somewhere and throws away the key, symbolizing their never ending love. There are love lock spots in cities all over the world, and in some cities know for love, like Paris, they are so popular that are actually causing problems. Some cities are having to cut off the love locks from bridges in fear that the bridge won’t be able to hold all the extra weight. This is not the case for Namsan, where love locks are encouraged. The fences that go around the observation area are becoming so full with love locks that they have installed a few “love trees,” which are metal trees meant for love locks.
Our names in Korean Writing, or Hangul for those know-it-alls out there.
Locking our love on Namsan.
A love tree, and one of the many fences full with love locks.
After locking our love lock we watched the sun set over Seoul and then headed to the top of the N Seoul Tower for some amazing views of the city at night. Although the glass windows and poor lighting made is hard to take pictures, I think Sam still got some great pics of the Seoul skyline at night.
Well, see you later.

Nice shots.

I love that ‘love lock’ idea… They have the same thing on one of the bridges in Paris…I can’t think of the name just now though.
